Harriet originally trained as a nurse but after qualifying she moved into publishing. Her first job was in the Publicity department at The Bodley Head and from there she went to Routledge & Kegan Paul as an editorial assistant; then to George Allen & Unwin as commissioning editor, before ending up at Macdonald Optima first as Managing Editor, and then as Editorial Director. Since then Harriet has worked as a freelance editor, writer and journalist in both print and broadcasting. She has written and published nearly twenty books books, including ghosting Carluccio’s memoir A Recipe for Life. Her background is in non-fiction.

Harriet is an experienced author, ghostwriter, journalist, reviewer, copywriter, editor and book publisher. She is a member of Society of Authors, Women in Journalism, Guild of Health Writers and is on the Advisory Council of www.changingfaces.org.uk
